Adult & Relationship Online & Telephone Counselling
I adhere to GDPR by ensuring all your Personal and Sensitive Data including case notes, printed emails, letters, reports and copies of referral documents are not shared without your explicit consent or if I am subpoenaed by a court of law. Your information will be kept in a locked filing cabinet or alternative locked storage: retained for a minimum of 7 years. Any electronic records such as emails which include clinical information will also be electronically deleted after the 7 year retention period. However text messages and emails in relation to appointment dates will be deleted after use or within 3 months. Under a Subject Access Request you can ask for copies of your personal records which will be provided within 30 days of your verbal or written request.

Children & Young Person Counselling (5-18 years)
I adhere to GDPR by ensuring all your Personal and Sensitive Data including case notes, printed emails, letters, reports and copies of referral documents are not shared without your explicit consent, unless I have cause to believe that you or a child under the age of 18 years (21 years for looked after children) or an unborn baby is suffering or may have suffered abuse and / or neglect or is likely to suffer abuse or neglect in accordance to Safeguarding Children and Young people (The Children Act 2004) or if I am subpoenaed by a court of law.
Your information will be kept in a locked filing cabinet or alternative locked storage: retained for a minimum of 7 years past your 18th birthday (21 years for looked after children) and after this time period will be destroyed by burning. Any electronic records such as emails which include clinical information will also be electronically deleted after the 7 year retention period past your 18th birthday (21 years for looked after children). However text messages and emails in relation to appointment dates will be deleted after use or within 3 months.

Living Will
In the event of my death or mental incapacity, I have a professional living will, whereby a trusted colleague will take over my notes and professional data and its storage. Details of this person can be provided at anytime on request.
