2006/08 Becoming a Counsellor was something that I had always been interested in, but had never had the confidence to persue. I always felt I wanted to work with people, but ran hotels and shops until a few years ago when a life changing event caused me to re-evaluate my future.
I knew that I had to find someone to talk to who didn’t know me and who could help me get my life back on track. I sought out a '
Qualified Professional Counsellor (BACP)' and it really helped me to get my life back on track.
I began training as a counsellor in 2005, since then I have qualified and I am presently doing a BA in Counselling and working towards BACP Accreditation.
In addition to counselling in private practice, I also work with adult clients at Life-Force in Colchester, and counsel adolescents (12-18 year olds) at schools in Suffolk and Essex.
I am committed to providing a high standard of professional practice that both honours and respects the individual. My practice maintains a strict code of practice and ethics as laid down by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and in doing so focuses on the needs of each person.(

I have worked in the social care sector for 3 years and have experience of dealing with vulnerable people (mental health and learning difficulties).
I hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (C.R.B) Certificate from Suffolk County Council.
Additional Training in 2009/10 I attend regular workshops and seminars to study the different philosophies and theories in counselling. I feel this helps to keep my skills fresh and up-to-date.
